Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay – At least eight families went homeless after their houses made mostly of light materials were razed by a fire that hit a residential village of this town Friday, March 15.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) reported the fire incident occurred at around 3:20 p.m. at Purok New Jerusalem, Barangay Don Andres.
Witnesses said the fire had started at the residence of one DanteAlipan spreading to nearby houses of seven other families.
Initial investigation showed that a number of children were seen playing matches at the house of Alipan. Minutes later the fire broke out and spread rapidly.
There was no reported injury or casualty from the incident.
