IPIL, Philippines – Combined military and police forces have arrested the number one most wanted person of Zamboanga Sibugay in a manhunt operation Thursday.
The combined law enforcement units under the supervision of Police Col. Jerry V. Protacio, Provincial Director of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office had conducted a manhunt operation May 16 at around 7:30 a.m. at Barangay Tenan, this municipality resulting to the arrest of one Monib Enriquez, 31 years old, married and a resident of the barangay.
Protacio said the suspect was identified as the Top 1 Most Wanted Person of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The arrest was carried out by virtue of Warrant of Arrest dated May 21, 2014 for the crime of Murder docketed under Criminal Case No 1-5371, another case of Murder docketed under Criminal Case No 1-6031, and Serious Illegal Detention docketed under Criminal Case No 1-6406 which were issued by two different courts in Ipil town.
Confiscated from his possession and control during the arrest were one unit caliber pistol SAM with SN BT10970775, and one inserted magazine loaded with seven live ammunition.
Meanwhile, the team had also arrested a certain Fajar Enriquez, 18 years old, single and a resident of the same place. Also confiscated from his possession and control was one unit fragmentation grenade.
The arrested persons are alleged to be members of a local criminal group engaged in kidnapping, gun for hire, and drug trafficking.
The arrested suspects were then brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Field Office for documentation and proper disposition. (Daphne Santuyo)
