IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – The government drug buy-bust operation had turned bloody leaving four people dead including an anti-drug enforcement officer.
Police Capt. Roque Hamid, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police information officer, said the police, military, and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) had conducted a joint buy-bust operation in Purok Javier in Barangay Upper Pangi at 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
The operatives had arrested during the operation one of the suspects.
Hamid identified the arrested suspect as Rosalie Gonzales Cula, 38, and resident of the place. But her companions were killed, whom Hamid identified as Ibrahim Cula, Abzer Cula, Jan-jan Mauli.
One of the slain suspects, Ibrahim Cula, had yielded an identification card of Bangsamoro National Army. It was not known immediately to what Muslim group this Army belongs.
The suspects had shot dead PDEA agent Jack Roland Bastatas. He succumbed to a gunshot wound to his chest.
Meanwhile, Police Cpl. Richie Novie Janeo had suffered an injury on his left ankle. He was immediately brought to the hospital for medical treatment.
The operation had recovered some 50.5 grams of ‘shabu’ worth P340,000, several firearms, and drug paraphernalia.
The arrested suspect is detained at Ipil Municipal Police Station. Appropriate charges will be filed against the suspects. (with reports from Daphne Santuyo/ Featured Image: ZSPPO)
